GMI Certification
Our Commitment to the Highest Color Quality Standard
Imperial Litho, a leading manufacturer of offset and digital print, inserts and labels for Walgreen, CVS and food companies, has been awarded GMI Prime Certification from the Graphic Measures International Organization. The recognition is a prerequisite for many brand owners and retailers, including companies such as CVS, Walgreens and Target, to contract with print and packaging vendors.
Graphic Measures International (GMI) certifies, monitors and measures the performance of packaging suppliers, helping brand owners control variables through print facility certification and scientific, repeatable measurement of global packaging. The organization works with its brand owners, product vendors and packaging suppliers to establish processes that effectively manage production, enhance packaging quality and build brand equity.
The certification process consists of a rigorous on-site evaluation, performed by a certified GMI engineer, verifying and validating the print packaging supplier’s ability to deliver consistent quality results to Walgreens and CVS PQA standards measured through a scientific color management system. GMI evaluates five key components: process control and documentation, equipment maintenance, training procedures, operator capability and equipment performance. Post-certification activities involve monitoring all production runs for private brands through sampling sent to GMI for evaluation prior to batch release. This ensures repeatable print packaging quality and accordingly protecting those brands.
The GMI Prime Certification demonstrates our commitment to manufacturing printing, packaging and labels at the highest quality standards. GMI will conduct ongoing performance evaluations to confirm that all standards are continuously fulfilled.
